Graduation Pathways

 Graduation pathways are designed to provide students with flexible options for earning their high school diploma. These pathways combine core academic requirements with opportunities to take college-level courses, helping students get ahead in their education. Pathway #1: AA Track from GCSC (Associate of Arts)

This pathway allows students to earn college credits while still in high school by enrolling in courses at Gulf Coast State College (GCSC). The Associate of Arts (AA) track is ideal for students who plan to continue their education at a four-year university after graduation. Students will complete general education requirements that can be transferred to a wide range of bachelor’s degree programs. 

Key Features

  • Enroll in college-level courses at GCSC while completing high school graduation requirements.
  • Earn college credits that count toward a future bachelor’s degree.
  • Flexible schedule to balance both high school and college courses.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.85* or Above required to participate in this pathway

Requirements to Enroll in Summer (Before 10th Grade):

  •  Successful Completion of All 9th Grade Credits
    This includes the successful completion of all courses required for 9th grade, including Physical Education.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.85* or Above
    Students must have a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher by the end of 9th grade.
  • No Significant Tardy, Attendance, or Behavior Issues
    Students must have a clean record with no major tardiness, attendance issues, or behavioral concerns during 9th grade.
  •  GCSC Enrollment: 3 Credits in an Approved Course
    Students must enroll in 3 college credit course from Gulf Coast State College (GCSC) in an approved course. These credits cannot be in Science, Math, or English. 

10th Grade Dual Enrollment Structure (AA Track - GCSC)

 Evening Classes After Regular School Hours

  • Students take dual enrollment courses at GCSC in the evening after completing their regular high school classes.

 Course Requirements:

  • Fall: 3 credits in an approved GCSC course. These credits cannot be in Science, Math, or English. (Students who did not earn an A in their Summer course must wait until Spring to resume GCSC classes.)
  • Spring: 3 credits in an approved GCSC course.
  • Summer (After 10th Grade):
    • Maximum of Two 3-Credit Courses (6 Hours Total).
    • If a course requires a lab, a 1-credit lab class is permitted in addition to the 6 credit hours.

11th Grade Dual Enrollment Structure (AA Track - GCSC)

Course Requirements: 

  • Fall Semester: 11 credits in approved GCSC courses.
  • Spring Semester: 11 credits in approved GCSC courses.
  • Early Dismissal: Students are dismissed from PCAS after 3rd period to attend their GCSC classes.
  • No Significant Tardy, Attendance, or Behavior Issues
  • Must Pass the GCSC CPT in English or Math (Required for certain courses.)*
  • No Grades at GCSC Lower Than a B or Any Withdrawals (W’s)


*If a student has not passed the required CPT after completing 12 college credits, they must refrain from dual enrollment until all required tests are passed.
